Introducing the New 3rd Tuesday Conversation Team

A new 3rd Tuesday Conversation Team has started meeting and is getting ready to produce the Network’s monthly podcast as it relaunches in September.

In May, we told you the team that had worked on the podcast for years was stepping aside. Adam Butler, Dannica Olsen and Elizabeth Pedersen, along with producer Paul Amlin, had been producing this podcast for a long time and felt it was time to step out of leadership and make room for a new team. They are an amazing, faithful group of colleagues and friends whose conversation and wisdom helped us all think about the future of faith formation. We are very grateful to them for all of their hard work.

Over the summer, we have worked to identify a new team of podcast hosts. I am excited to introduce them to you:

Veronica Britto (she/her) (Host) is a volunteer lay ministry worker at her urban congregation in Philadelphia, where she has been a member since the late 1980s. Veronica works as a library administrator at the Free Library of Philadelphia, where she started as a Children’s Librarian in 2004. She’s lost count of how many Network Extravaganzas she’s attended since her first “E” in New Orleans over 20 years ago. Veronica enjoys traveling internationally, listening to audiobooks, watching sci-fi & romantic comedies, and spending quality time with friends and family, especially her nieces and nephews, who give her much joy.

Pastor Alex LaChapelle (Host) serves at Prince of Peace Lutheran Church in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan, as well as the Sacred Space Campus Ministry at Northern Michigan University.  Alex loves camp, crediting Lutherhaven Ministries with giving him some of the tools he still uses today.  When he’s not at church or on campus, he’s playing pickleball, guitar, or dreaming about becoming a real outdoorsman.

Deacon Jessica Noonan (Host) serves as the Associate Director at LEADconnects in Houston, Texas.  She works with congregations and leaders across the country helping them to listen deeply to God and connect to their neighbors.  Ministry with families was her primary call for many years and remains close to her heart.

Pastor Paul Amlin (Producer)  has served as a volunteer, a lay professional youth minister, and now a pastor. He’s served three congregations and worked at the churchwide offices as program director for youth ministry.  These days he serves a congregation on an island in Cocoa Beach, FL where he spends his days avoiding alligators and snakes and inviting friends to visit because Disney is 45 minutes away.  He loves good music, good BBQ, and good friends, but mostly he loves his wife, Lorice, for 35 years with more to come. Paul will continue to serve as the producer of the podcast.

The goal of the Network’s podcast is to engage in conversations that help congregational practitioners lead in their congregations, and that point them towards new thinking, ideas and resources for their ministry.

We are grateful to this new team for taking on this project.

Look for the first episode from this new team to be released on Tuesday, September 17. In the meantime, the archive of past episodes is available to all basic and plus members by going to elcaymnet.org/3tc. You can also access the podcast from wherever you get your podcasts.
