Welcome New Members of the Network’s Board of Directors

Hello, friends!

It’s the time of year when we introduce the newest members of the Network’s Board of Directors. Each of them brings a unique blend of passion, insight, and dedication that is critical to steering the mission and vision of the Network.

The Network Board is responsible for there mission, vision and goals of the ELCA Youth Ministry Network. They are the architects of our mission, the visionaries mapping our journey, and the stewards of our values. Their decisions shape the experiences we create and the ways we train and prepare adults who work in faith formation.

Lisa Herlocker returns to the board for her second term. She is a volunteer who works with the youth ministry at Bethel Lutheran Church in Roseville, California. She has served in her synodical youth ministry, as a synod coordinator/champion for the ELCA Youth Gathering. She was a valued member of the Network Board in her first term, and we are looking forward to having her return in her role.

New to the Network Board is Deacon Jamie Travers. Jamie serves at Sharon Lutheran Church in Grand Forks, North Dakota, where has been called as the Deacon of Congregational Life. Jamie has served in a number of synodical and churchwide roles, including as a Regional Facilitator for the Network. He has had a variety of experiences. In his spare time, Jamie enjoys being a part of community theater productions.

Deacon Ingelaurie Lisher serves at St. Mark Lutheran Church by the Narrows in Tacoma, Washington. She also has been busy with churchwide and synodical ministries. She will soon be completing a term as the Region 1 representative to the SYMBOL (Synodical Youth Ministry Band of Leaders) Network steering team.

Daniel Jacob is a business person and entrepreneur, with a background in youth ministry, and an M.Div degree from Yale Divinity School. He makes his home in Springfield, Ohio. There, he is the creative director for Brick Books. Daniel has both worked and volunteered in congregations in Ohio since 2011.

In addition to these four individuals, the Network Board also includes Matthew Lovett, Dr. Kelly Sherman Conroy and Rev. Heather Hansen.

Each one of these gifted people of God bring a story, a perspective, and a burning desire to make a difference in the lives of congregations, children youth and family ministry leaders and the young people with whom they work.

We welcome them to the Network Board with gratitude for their willingness to serve.

Networked in Christ,
Todd
