Hello friends,
Each year, the ELCA Youth Ministry Network invites nominations for individuals to serve on its Board of Directors. This important process is guided by the Nominating Committee, a small group of Network members entrusted with helping identify and recommend strong, faithful leaders who will shape the future of our ministry together.
The Board of Directors has a very particular role. It is not involved in the daily operations or management of the Network. Instead, the board holds the mission and vision, looking ahead with imagination and hope to where God might be calling us next. Board members ask big questions about the future of the church and youth ministry, and they ensure that the Network remains faithful to its purpose of renewing, educating, and connecting adults who serve young people in the ELCA.
The Nominating Committee plays a behind-the-scenes but critical role in this process. They prayerfully review nominations, discern gifts and skills, and ensure that the board represents the broad diversity of our church. They look for people who bring wisdom, creativity, and the ability to think strategically. They seek leaders who are grounded in faith and committed to the Network’s mission. The committee’s work helps create a healthy and forward-looking board that can lead the Network with vision and integrity.
Nominations are now open and will be received until October 1, 2025. Anyone who is a member of the Network can nominate themselves or someone else they believe would serve well. You can find more information about serving on the board at www.elcaymnet.org/leadership, and you can submit a nomination form at www.elcaymnet.org/nominate.
We invite you to join us in prayer for the Nominating Committee as they carry out this important work. Please also prayerfully consider whether you, or someone you know, may be called to serve on the board. The strength of the Network has always come from the faithful and gifted leaders who step forward to share their wisdom, energy, and vision.
Together, we can ensure that the Network continues to thrive as a place of connection, renewal, and support for all who serve in youth ministry.
