There is an important change regarding the “Gathering Bus Tour” being held at the 2024 Extravaganza in New Orleans next month.
The public bus tour of Gathering sites and locations is being replaced by a different event that will serve the same purpose, introduce adult leaders to a tool that we will use during the Gahtering, and will be free!
During the Gathering this summer, youth groups will be encouraged to participate in a New Orleans scavenger hunt, using a mobile app to guide them through the city.
During the Extravaganza, we will make use of the same technology to walk the scavenger hunt route. The path will take participants past many of the primary gathering sites, and gathering planning team members will be positioned along the route to guide and to answer questions about the gathering venues.
The app will be free to download and there will be no cost to participate in the scavenger hunt/tour. It’s a great way to become familiar with the app, to see the Gathering sites and to become comfortable with the city before you bring young people to New Orleans next summer.
The registration for the Public Bus tour has been taken down from the web site, and those who pre-registered will have their fee refunded.
